Warren Day
Warren Day
Landscape paintings predominately of the Forest of Dean, Wye Valley and surrounding area showing paths and trackways, undergrowth and scrubland, a variety of deciduous and evergreen trees, and forms of integrated man-made activity.
Real earth samples from the forest add texture in the image that is integrated into the picture. Mixed media and gouache painting capture the details that create illustrative realistic landscapes.
From university to commercial illustrator working for clients such as Punch magazine and the Radio Times, I have spent the last 22 years as an Art and Design teacher. I live in the Forest of Dean with my family where I now teach in an exciting local arts centre and work from my studio located on the edge of the forest. I enjoy cross country running through this inspirational landscape that is a continuous reference for my paintings.
