Heather Voss

I started painting in 2008 while living in France and particularly like to paint landscapes as I find the changing shapes and colours of nature fascinating. I paint in oils and my paintings are mostly impressionist in style. I try to capture the light and texture in the subject rather than being an exact photo like copy.
My subjects can be from a variety of sources, sketches or photos I’ve made or taken at the location or simply a photo in the media I have found particularly striking because of colour or it’s dramatic affect.
I hope that when people look at my paintings they find them peaceful and relaxing. Even if they don’t recognise the location hopefully they are inspired to say “I’d love to go there”!
