Through explorations of the concept of freedom and limitations, I have been inspired by the people from indigenous cultures. At first glance people in tribes may be seen as limited in comparison to the innovations of the developed world, however, I choose to look deeper and acknowledge their freedom from an often corrupted society. This image was taken by Anete Costa in 2012 at the National Festival of Indigenous Culture in Bertioga - Brazil and illustrates a man who is proud of his culture and freedom to express it.

My name’s Lily, I'm 16 and I am currently studying for my A-levels in Monmouth. Art has always been a passion of mine which I have been cultivating and exploring all of my life. I enjoy painting, drawing and creating the ideas I have through an array of different mediums including digital art and have recently taken to oil painting.
