As a child Chris was fascinated by the idea of capturing images on film. He was driven to make his own working pin hole camera with which he produced his first images. Although crude, they reinforced Chis's desire to learn and experiment... nothing has changed! Chis won prizes as a teenager, for photography and mixed media, therefore was encouraged to receive formal tuition in water colour painting. This later discipline continues to influence how he visualises and attempts to capture a scene in camera. His desire to study art and music was diverted by a career in science, however he is now following his instincts once more.
"I like to create images of interest from the simplest of scenes. I sometimes use camera movement and multiple exposures to deliver the picture in my mind. The failure of experimentation often yields the most exciting results, I am currently mixing traditional and digital techniques, the unpredictable outcome being the key driver."
