"I first started working with glass in 2002 when I moved to Wales and set up a studio in Penallt.
It is fascinating that a medium, seemingly rigid and fragile, can be re-formed to give the appearance of fluidity and movement. With good design, thoughtful structure and choice of glass, a plain window can be transformed into a fascinating play between colour, light and shade. When using heat to fuse the glass I find whatever happens in the kiln can be surprising and inspiring.
I enjoy both the careful planning and structure required when building a leaded panel and also the more experimental approach using heat to manipulate the glass."
Cathy has exhibited both locally and nationally.
